About Me

As a therapist, I’ve adopted an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing techniques and interventions from various theories. I believe this provides my clients with the most flexibility and autonomy during their therapeutic experience. I understand that therapy may be a big step for many and emotions may even be a bit scary. That’s why I make it my responsibility to create a safe and trusting, collaborative environment. I want the people that I work with to feel comfortable sharing their stories while also not shying away from exploring the scary parts as well.

Over the past year, I’ve developed a passion for working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and family/relationship concerns. When working through these issues, I’ve learned that using an approach centered in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) has cultivated the best results. This approach highlights compassion and mindfulness to help individuals accept their emotions without judgment, accept rather than fight off painful emotions, notice and disengage with unhelpful thoughts/interpretations, and learn to commit to their values by confronting avoidance. I also have a passion for working with couples. When working with couples, I utilize the Gottman Method. This therapeutic framework is designed to help couples strengthen their relationship in three main areas: friendship, conflict management, and the creation of shared meaning. The goal of this therapeutic approach is to disarm conflicting communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, remove barriers that support feelings of stagnancy, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding.

When I'm not in the office

When I’m not in the office, I like to spend my time enjoying the outdoors, trying new foods, and simply being with my family. I have two small boys that absolutely run the show in our house! When I’m not chasing behind them, you can catch me trying out a new recipe or booking our next family adventure. I believe there is nothing more important than the experiences you create for those around you and the relationships you choose to pour into.
