My journey into supporting others started with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I first found my passion for understanding and helping people. Inspired by my volunteer work as a hospital responder, I became dedicated to supporting trauma survivors through a caring, person-centered approach. It was through that experience I saw how isolating trauma can be, so I focus on helping people reframe their experiences and find a path to healing and empowerment. Building on this foundation, I pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from West Virginia University, which enhanced my skills in therapeutic practices and client support.
After graduating, I had the exciting opportunity to learn how to incorporate animals into therapy, earning my credential in Animal-Assisted Interventions. I then applied these skills as a clinician at a practice that specialized in co-occurring disorders, complex trauma, and substance use, where I used a holistic approach to treatment. In addition to being trained in Animal-Assisted Interventions, I have experience in using both traditional and non-traditional therapeutic techniques such as EMDR,AF-EMDR, ACT, CPT, CBT, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
